Rex Blazer, Tracy Sands and Rod McDonald

Tracy Sands is a traditional Irish and Contemporary singer from Mayobridge, Newry Co. Down in the heart of the Mournes Mountains. She started singing at an early age and represented her School and County in many competitions including the Fèis and Scor Na nOg. She has also appeared at Pittsburg, Milwaukee and Cleveland Irish Festival. “Benagh” is her family home and forms the name for the wonderful musicians that lend their talent to tell the story of a good song!

Rod MacDonald is an American singer-songwriter, novelist, and educator. He was a “big part of the 1980s folk revival in Greenwich Village clubs”, performing at the Speakeasy, The Bottom Line, Folk City, and the “Songwriter’s Exchange” at the Cornelia Street Cafe. He co-founded the Greenwich Village Folk Festival.

Rex Blazer’s exuberant presence has been energizing dancers nationwide for over 25 years. Rex’s powerful and irreverent fiddling blends tradition with a big dose of improvisation based on modern musical motifs. From growling to “trad”, blues to singing, it’s always full of surprises. Rex ascribes to the theory that life should be a nonstop music and dance party, and is renowned for his knack of matching music to dance.
